FAQs
Short answers to common questions. Admission rules can change, so we always check the current position with you before you apply.
See All FAQs →In India, MBBS seats are allotted through NEET-UG based counselling: the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) runs All India Quota, central, deemed and AIIMS/JIPMER counselling, and state authorities run state quota counselling. For MBBS abroad you apply to universities directly. Students who study abroad must also meet National Medical Commission (NMC) requirements to practise in India. We help you compare cost, eligibility and long-term requirements for both routes.
Yes. Under NMC regulations, Indian students who want to practise medicine in India after studying abroad need to qualify NEET-UG before taking admission. Please confirm the current NMC requirements before you apply.
Generally, you need to have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English, with the minimum marks prescribed for your category, a qualifying NEET-UG result, and to be at least 17 years old by 31 December of the admission year. Exact requirements vary by category, state and university, so we check them against your profile.
Under the NMC Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations, 2021, the course should be at least 54 months long, taught in English, include a 12-month internship at the same institution, and lead to registration as a doctor in that country. You also need to clear the licensing examination prescribed in India. Rules can change, so verify the current position before applying.
Usually your Class 10 and 12 mark sheets and certificates, NEET-UG scorecard, identity proof, passport (for study abroad), passport-size photographs, and category or domicile certificates where applicable. Some universities also ask for a medical fitness certificate. We give you a checklist for your specific pathway.
Costs vary widely by college, country, quota and academic year, and include tuition, hostel, living and other expenses. We share current figures for the specific colleges you are considering. See our Fees page for how costs are made up.
No. Admission and seat allotment depend on your eligibility, NEET-UG result, official counselling and each institution’s decisions. We provide guidance and support so that you can make informed choices.
